After spending a total of 20 hours on page two, working, and basically pushing myself, I ran out of steam sometime around 5AM. Heh. I just woke up. After working on page two, I think the rest of the comic will go much faster. Hell, I think comics will be churned out faster from now on compared to today's page two. Page two is massive, and the actual size before I shrink it for web purposes is 20" by 40". Yep. Massive.
Well, I better get started again. I hope to have it up tonight.

Keenspace seems fixed, so yay. I'd be a little more enthusiastic, but I'm really sick right now. I think I have a fever (I don't know really; I don't own a thermometer), and I've had a continuing migrane all day. Plus, my snot is a bright orange from the mixed blood in it. I think I ought to go to the doctor, but I'm going to see how I feel in the morning. Oh, and thanks to the fever, I've had dreams about a place that's a mix between Yokosuka, Japan, and New Orleans, LA. Talk about screwed up. The people at
Cafe du Monde were selling ramune soda and
wagashi. Then for some reason I ended up in a rest stop in Virginia. That's when I woke up and then ate something, and then I proceeded to sleep again. I've finally managed to get up now, but I can feel my brain just oozing out the side...
I'm thinking about doing a piece on the game I just found the other day in EXCELLENT condition:
Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf for Sega Genesis. Yeah, I'm pleased with myself. I really should sit down and play it.
Well, I'm going to get something to eat again and hopefully do something productive. Y'all have fun.

Well, it's Sunday, and I meant to work on Yuuki all this week. Alas, I was busy, so here I am working on it now despite the fact that I'm sick and have been in the bathroom most of the night. Yep, a wonderful Sunday. I did have a good Saturday, however. It was my one year anniversary with Harry Lime. ^_^ We had a lot of fun.
I'm not leaving my computer chair till Yuuki's done tonight! I have dedication! I am...
Oh, wait, I have to leave my chair. I just realized the computer screen is fuzzy. Grr... Must get glasses...

Howdy, monkeys! How y'all doing? Ready for the Bloody Heart (Valentine's) Day? I sure am! I've got the stuffs ready! Whee!
I finally got my glasses! I got a call this morning that sounded like garbage (like this: brgh bee breergh lurrgh butrghfh!!), so I traced the number and found it to be the Target Optical Center. The guy there was like, "I don't know how it sounded like that, but your glasses are ready!" So, Cinnabat and I, who were originally going out for lunch, headed on over there to fetch them. Now, let me start by telling you the tale of going to get my eyes tested:
Last week, Cinnabat, who wanted to be my fashion consultant, and I went to Target to the Optical Center (originally I went to Wallsmart, but since they were busy, I said screw it and headed on to Target where no one goes for glasses). So, I went in and filled out some forms, and then proceed to look at frames while I waited for the doctor. Cinnabat ran around the store looking for frames for me and herself (she wants new frames). I tried on at least 20 pairs and here's some of the responses I got from Cinna:
"Makes your eyes too big."
(I have abnormally large eyes already. Yes, I am a living anime girl. ^_^;;)
"Makes your face too round."
(Yep, got a round face too.)
"Uh..."
(Take your guess.)
"You look like a guy."
(...)
Finally I was able to pick out a pair. A nice, dark pink pair of glasses with little stars on the tips of the glasses-arm-thingies (you know, the parts that go behind your ear). I think they might be kids' glasses, but eh, whatever. They're cute and don't make me look like a man.
Right after that, the doctor comes out and ushers me into the testing room. The first thing he says when looking at my eyes is, "Wow, your pupils are so dialated already that I don't have to put drops into them." Yup, big eyes are handy sometimes. So after the standard "look-into-the-light" tests, he sits me into the chair and puts the "lens-o-rama" machine (hell if I know the right name) on my face. He started with my right eye, and after a few times of adjusting, he says that my right eye is a bit nearsighted. Then he tests my left eye.
My left eye has always been weak. Ever since I was five, I've been a bit blind in it. I just never really gave it a thought until recently when the right eye was weakening. So when he covers my right eye so I can only see with my left, he says, "Read the lowest line."
I say, "What lowest line?" Then he says, "Okay, read the top line."
The top line text, as I remember from my right eye was an inch and a half tall. I try to focus the eye, but I can't see it. He clicks the little display so that the letters are the largest ones on the test (about 4" tall). He says, "Read the top line." I say I still can't see letters. He pauses for a minute and then asks, "What can you see?" I say, "I see a big white glowing blob on a beige blob." This is when the clicking began.
After many clicks and the doctor asking if I could see anything and me replying no, finally I exclaim, "Whoa! I see something!" He asks what I see, and I reply, "I see big black polka-dots!" You can imagine that there was more clicking.
Finally, he quits the clicking after I said that the letter on the top left was a square (it was a "D"), and he says that he believed that this was the strongest prescription I needed because it was evident that the left eye was just too far gone. It would improve somewhat, but not by much. I say that's okay. Then he allows me to see with both eyes, and for the first time in a very long time, I was able to see that, no, letters don't have fuzzy halos around them.
He then proceed to tell me that contacts were not an option for me, not because of the prescription, but that glasses were rather a precautionary measure because if I lose my right eye, I'll be blind. I said that I was not getting contacts because I know me, and that the first thing I'd do with contacts would be to rip my eye or something. Haha.
So, this sort of brings us to today (there was a week in which I did nothing), and I put the glasses on. Whee... the first thing I noticed was that the shelves in Target are not round on top, but really just straight lines. Truly, I am blind. I also discovered that my monitor is actually a very nice monitor with a very crisp picture and not a crappy, fuzzy monitor after all. ^_^;; I also stared at the comic today and realized that the comic doesn't blend into a blurry mess when I post it to the web. Who knew?
Well, anyway, I've rambled enough. Here's me with glasses:
Oh, and while I'm posting, the
Yuuki Valentine's Day stuff will be available after Valentine's. I like the design too much to get rid of it so soon. ^_^ I'm not sure about the
Teddy Bear item, however. I think it's seasonal.

Hey, here's an artist's rendering of me with glasses (which hasn't happened yet):
Oh, and Tom_Swan already has glasses. Kiku-chan, as far as I know, does not need glasses. I'm not sure where he got them. Probably stole them from a dog.
Montrose Academy.com should be up tonight. If you're seeing this after two weeks of not seeing this page, yep, it happened.
Stating the obvious.
12:10:00 AM
Wheehoo! I'm able to manually update the page now! Let us celebrate!
A big thanks goes out to
Kisai for helping me. Thanks! You are so cool, and I'm sorry if I dashed away! You get a 21 monkey salute!
Well, what have I been up to? Not much. Working. Listening to the
BBC. Realizing my eyes are going bad. That's right. My eyes are going bad. I've been noticing it for a while, but thought it was due to being tired. But when you start noticing you can't read things six feet away from you and street signs are a blur, that's a sign you need glasses. Yep. The Kittyhawk is getting glasses.
I look terrible in glasses! Gah! And I don't think contacts would be good because I'm so accident prone. I can just see myself poking myself in the eye or tearing my cornea. *shudders* I think I'll just go for the unattractive, yet safe, look, I guess...
As soon as I get them, I'll take a picture. It'll be worth a laugh. ^_^;;
Thanks to all the people in the forums for their support. This has been nerve wracking, to say the least.
No, you can't have one.
