I hate big cars. I've always hated them. Ever since I was little, I despised
SUVs and
minivans.
Trucks and
vans are fine as long as hauling is done with the truck, but
decorative trucks fall into the category of "big car." A
metal van, though, is just awesome, though you don't see them as much anymore. I long for the days of vans with makeout rooms inside with a mural of Thor fighting a dragon on the exterior.
Anyway, my mother has always been a fan of large vehicles, claiming they were safer and had more room. I don't know about safer. You ride higher than the average car, which gives the illusion of safety, and I guess if you're the bigger car in wreck, I guess you'll fare better, unless you hit
an old Caddy. If you go off the road, prepare for a rolling good time. I've been in an SUV that flipped when a smaller car would have just swerved off the road, and it was certainly not fun. Well, it kind of was (I was nine after all), but it wasn't fun afterwards when I was hanging sideways in the car.
More room is a myth as well. More room means more room to shove crap into your car. And really, a sedan has about the same room as most of the SUVs out there like the
Subaru Forester and the
Jeep Liberty. I guess you get more head room with an SUV. However, unless you're as tall as my brother
Tom_Swan, who is about 6'8", you don't need it.
So why this rant on big cars? I recently saw these awesome commercials from
Hummer that play on the insecurities of people. The really awesome thing is that they come right out and say,
"YOU ARE A PUSSY!! BUY A HUMMER TO MAKE UP FOR IT!" or
"YOUR KID IS A WUSS!! BUY A HUMMER SO PEOPLE DON'T NOTICE!" Only in America, folks, only in America.
No thank you,
GM Corporation, I think I'll stick with my old Volvo. I feel much safer in my car, and I certainly have enough room to carry five people and their luggage. My car is not there to make me feel more like a man; it is to get me places.
I'm not preaching. I was just laughing.

A wise and honest man once said, "I like big butts and I cannot lie." No truer words have been spoken, until now. I say, "I like big thighs and I cannot lie." But I guess Loki would agree with the knighted one. I'll have to work harder.
Things are going a lot better in the Land of Kittyhawk. Bitches have been dealt with, a dog has been acquired, and the
Nintendo Wii's release approaches. Now only if it were the end of next month, things will be perfect...
Why you ask? Why, because
DRAGON*CON is coming! Yay! I'll be there this year doing panels for the Anime and EFF tracks. I'll even be teaching a couple of drawing workshops. I'll learn y'all good! So come on down to Atlanta this Labor Day weekend. It's a finger-licking good time!
Nothing else seems important to the point.

After a week and a half of no Internet thanks to some fucking stupid contractor who didn't know to call and find out where the gas main was
before tearing up the ground with a small backhoe, causing the road to be torn up, as well as the cable lines, as the city frantically tried to stop the massive gas leak while my whole neighborhood was blanketed by a noxious cloud of gas which caused my lungs to hurt and force me to stay inside for a day, I am back. It took "magic" to get my Internets back. I missed my Internet.
So what does the above story have to do with SGVY? Well, because I had no Internets, except when I trekked to some part of the city that still had Internet, which didn't last for long thanks to this disaster causing the whole town to experience the outage (I'm really not sure how it caused the whole city to have problems, but that's what I was told), I got behind in work, so now I have to finish it. I'm hoping to have the comic out by Monday.
Oh, here's a picture of Cacao, as it was requested:

Isn't she cute? She'll chew your face. And everything else.
It's not hot outside! Whee!! Time to go out for a minute before I'm bored!
It's what I want, but do I have the guts to grab the opportunity?
